Filoli

The most beautiful garden in the Bay Area and long considered one of the most beautiful estates in the country, Filoli sits on 16 acres near Woodside off I280 and is hands down our favorite place to photograph. You will have to cover admissions tickets for yourselves, which is $36/person. The grounds are open 10AM-5PM and gorgeous year round. You cannot do wedding photography here, only engagement photos and no change of clothes allowed. No permit is needed.

Gable Garden

Palo Alto, CA

Relaxed public garden with gorgeous scenes near round. Don’t underestimate this small garden- it packs punches when it comes to seasonal garden varieties. It’s free and open to the public. Plenty of parking. AND we can go get boba after (extra brownie points)

Foothill Park

Los Altos

A bit far off freeway but worth the drive, Foothill Park has a nice lake view, charming docks and unique trees for those who REALLY love nature

San Mateo Rose Park

There’s also a cute Japanese garden. It’s a public park so it does get crowded but it’s free and no permit needed.

Stanford Dish (back side, dog friendly)

We know a spot nearby Stanford dish with the same look- think: tall grass on rollings hills- but is less crowded and pet friendly. Always a great option to do with Gamble Garden.

Seal Cove Tree Tunnel

There’s also a cute Japanese garden. It’s a public park so it does get crowded but it’s free and no permit needed.
